Events in Kampala leading upto Christmas this December

Kampala is usually very quiet during December especially leading upto Christmas. We would have expected more events and fun festivals as everyone is on holidays, but Ugandans spend these holidays at home with family or travelling abroad or even getting out of the city for a break.

However, for the party folks, we have highlighted a few of the events you could check out in Kampala during December leading upto Christmas.

 

4th – 5th December:

2.0 System Upgrade

Venue: Soho Rooftop Bar, 3rd Industrial Area

The man on the MOVE Mister Boldwood presents the illest party of December .THE SYSTEM UPGRADE happening on the 4th of December.

Come party with the baddest DJs on the decks, Deejay Jo, Deejay Mackus, Slaughter Elly, TNT , Fem Deejay and performances by John Blaq, Rickman the master of Enjoyments , Kohen Jaycee , J – Wats and many more performances.

The System Upgrade will be happening at Soho Rooftop Bar ( Former Square Place) located on 3rd Street Industrial Area. 

Gates open at 7 PM.

The event is free of charge.

 

7th December:

Cipa’s Christmas Cracker 2019

Venue: Gems Cambridge International School, Butabika

Tickets from 5,000/-

Expect a fireworks display, Santa’s Grotto, Entertainment, Bouncy Castle, Christmas crafts, Raffle, BBQ and international cuisine. Perfect for the kids. Under 2s are free.

 

8th-10th December:

Cinema Ku’Dembe Festival

Venue: Uganda National Cultural Centre (National Theatre)

Uganda’s first International Human Rights Film Festival – Cinema Ku’Dembe, is a platform of cinematic art and critical discourse, a space of encounter and dialogue, and a meeting point for young innovative filmmakers, both local and international. The festival presents outstanding documentary and fictional feature films, short films, animations and experimental films dealing with human rights issues. Films, that aim to encourage people, to scrutinise and re-examine their views about human rights and responsibilities. Furthermore the festival programme contains lectures, workshops, talks, panel discussions, performances and many more activities.

 

10th December:

Make them hear you Christmas Concert

Venue: Uganda National Cultural Centre

The Cherubim Chamber Chorale brings you another edition of Christmas Carols this December with the theme “Make them hear you” at the Uganda National Cultural Center Auditorium or the National theater. 13th December:

The Acapella Experience by Spring Gents

Venue: Golf Course Hotel

The First ever an all Acapella show in Uganda and Africa.

One of a Kind, Spring Gents in conjunction with a number of Artists in Uganda, will host you to a cozy and chilly evening of pure Vocals, with barely no Instruments accompanied except on a few performances. SpringGents is an all male Vocal singing group.

With a VIP setting, experience pure Vocals that will display creativity basing on all genres in Music (RnB, Reggae, Hihhop, Classical) and ofcourse not forgetting our own Cultural styles.

The event will be crowned with a Christmas Tour and experience singing songs from early 80’s to date.

A King is Born

Celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with the Christmas Musical Production, A King is Born, at the National Theatre. Performed by Sosolya Undugu Dance Academy and May’s Little Ballerina Studio showing at 12:00pm and 4:00pm

 

15th December:

Outdoor festival featuring artists Jidenna, Allan Toniks, Evon, Apio Moro, Deejay LL, Mwami Kiyimba

29th December:

Christmas Cantata

Venue: Glory Of Christ Church Matugga, Matugga, Uganda

Glory of Christ Presents End Of Year Christmas CANTATA Festival.

Do not miss the beautiful Christian praise, music dance and drummer, poems and many others all in one event.

Different Gospel artists in a number of sectors that is in music, drummer, and many others all are to perform on that day.
